Boy, Is This Page Long!! Do I really Have To Read All Of This?Well, boys and girls, I would appreciate it if you do read everything on this page. I've tried to be as complete as I can be because I'm tired of members not following directions and then getting all up in arms and down right rude when we have to correct them. So, yes, I've updated this page and I hope it now includes everything you should need to know about submitting to the club. If you have any questions, never hesitate to contact me by note.

Only members can submit a heart shape deviation to the gallery. If you are a new member, please do not submit until you have received a note accepting you into the club. Please have our
AVATAR or
STAMP in your journal before you submit.

Only two deviations per note per week. We upload to the gallery anytime between Thursday and Tuesday. We do not upload on Wednesday due to our weekly poll. A deviation may not be uploaded right away if a submission note has to be returned to verify something (for example, if we receive only a link or if we cannot verify the proper category).
Sometimes we purposefully hold on to submissions notes for a couple of days to upload many at one time. Sometimes we are busy with other site maintenance and cannot get to the submissions. Please be patient.
If you are rude concerning your submission, you may risk being removed from the club and being banned from entering the club's website.
The deviation must contain at least one heart, either a realistic rendering of a heart or the symbol of a heart. The hearts or hearts may be small, but they must be easily seen.

We do accept stock images, avatars, stamps, IDs, CSS, desktop wallpapers, textile designs, jewlry, tatoo designs, line drawings, packaging, design interfaces, and other special deviations that contain a heart, however we cannot upload to our gallery under certain special dA categories.
In order for us to upload to the club's gallery, you MUST follow the procedures below that includes the correct "art category" or your Submission Note may be returned.
In other words, if your deviation is categorized as a wallpaper in your gallery so that it will be included in dA's wallpaper collection, but it is a pencil drawing, for us, you must list the category as Drawing/Illustration/(correct subcategory)/Traditional Art.
Example: The image below is categorized as
Designs & Interfaces > Advertising in the member's gallery.

For the club's purposes, it was categorized under the art category
Digital Art > Photomanipulation > Conceptual , it's original art media. This category will place her deviation in more of dA's collections, and keep the club away from non-art related deviation categories.
Sorry, but we are not going to guess on the art category because most times it's very difficult to tell, and dA has become very strict about miscategorizing artwork.
When you are ready to submit, please follow the procedures below. We ask this of all members so that we are all doing the same thing, and it's not confusing for the moderators.
1. Send a NOTE with SUBJECT: GALLERY in the subject line.
2.a In the body of the note you MUST include: the TITLE OF THE DEVIATION,
2.b the PROPER ART CATEGORY (as explained above) And SUBCATEGORIES. This is now very important because Deviant Art has changed many categories. If we cannot figure out what the category is, we will return your submission note.
2.c. KEYWORDS. It's best that you select your own keywords to help people find your deviation easier in dA's main SEARCH. Without keywords we will simply used "heart", but do you realize how many deviations are out there with the keyword "heart"?
Notes received with only links will be returned. Notes missing any other information may or may not be returned depending on what's missing. As I wrote above, be patient, be polite.
Members being rude or uncooperative concerning their submissions risk being removed from the club and banned from entering the club's website. Do NOT argue with us concerning how we ask all members to submit their deviations. If you do not like it, simply do not submit and send a note that you would like to leave the club.
Since dA has become so strict concerning miscategorized deviations, we uphold the right to recategorized as we see fit. That includes the subcategory. For example: If you submit a deviation under Still Life but it is more Conceptual, or under People but Emotional is better, we will change the subcategory.

Only submit your best work. I cannot emphasize this enough.
We will no longer except simple deviations that obviously did not take much thought, even if you think it did, or deviations of very poor quality. We want to showcase the best of our member's images in our gallery and have quality deviations to choose from for the weekly
Heart Of The Week and for our various features and special projects.
Example:
YES

NO

It's okay to disagree with our decision about what is worthy of our gallery and what is not, but we are not your moms, dads, friends and teachers and we are not going to baby you. We are going to be truthful about what is really innovative, creative and different, and what is not (and don't even get me started on why I'm qualified to do this).
There are many deviations of heart clouds in the sky, hearts drawn in the sand, heart in an eye, heart(s) on lips, and rings used to create hearts over open pages of a book at dA; so if you've got one, it better be
really different, or please do not submit it to our club. I'm warning you now, it will be rejected.
Once again, if you're going to be rude about it, you're risking being removed as a member and being banned from entering the club's website.
ABOUT .PNG FORMATTED DEVIATIONS
I understand why you may select .png over a .jpeg when saving your final deviation. However, not everyone uses the same paint program and, therefore, a .png deviation will not always download, even when using the "SAVE AS" option. Believe it or not, they will not appear in the person's hard drive or sometimes they become distorted. This is the reason many popular clubs will not accept .png deviations.
We will accept your deviation in .png format, however for our purposes not only will we need a link to your original .png, but we will also need for you to provide us with a .jpeg version.
We will always link directly to the original deviation in the artist's comments and we will download the .jpeg version from one of the sources below:
1. You can submit the .jpeg version to your Scraps and send us that link. As soon as you receive a note from us saying that the deviation is uploaded to our gallery, you can remove it from your Scraps; or,
2. You can upload the .jpeg version to the DA forum or to an off DA photo share website such as photobucket.com and send us the link.

We have the right to decline any deviation. We will always tell you why we've declined it. It could be because we feel it is not up to our quality control. Tasteful mature deviations are acceptable. Also understand that nothing that violates Deviant Art rules, is gore for the sake of gore, or is very sexual in nature will be uploaded to the members or favorite gallery.
These rules and procedures are subject to be amended at any time so please bookmark this page for future reference.

I actually read it all and I've copied it for future reference if accepted.
It's completely understandable that you apply such guidelines.
Running a club is a lot of work.

Expecting life to treat you well because you are a good person is like expecting an angry bull not to charge because you are a vegetarian.
